Atlas Hyper Achromatic Z 3.5 Speaker Cables

Atlas Hyper Achromatic Z 3.5 Speaker Cables

DESCRIPTION AND FEATURES:

IN THE BOX: 2 speaker cables

Developed by Atlas in consultation with a number of leading audio manufacturers.

A sophisticated cable engineered to offer a higher level of transparency than products typically supplied in ‘single-brand’ systems.

We’re regularly asked by users of ‘single-brand’ systems from companies such as Naim and Linn if our cables could improve their system without sacrificing its essential character.

It’s relatively easy to deliver an improvement in a specific area, but more difficult to create a cable that improves on overall detail, accuracy, and open-ness without losing the signature speed and character of these systems.

All Atlas cables are designed to impose as little of any inherent character as possible, achieved through careful selection of materials and construction methods, but we feel this latest generation Hyper cable is exceptionally transparent, allowing the equipment characteristics to be conveyed intact.

The cable employs conductors comprising 72 0.25mm² high-purity OFC (Oxygen Free Copper) strands encapsulated within a carefully selected high-efficiency PTFE (Teflon™) dielectric coating. The resultant conductor is embedded within an anti-vibration filler and finished in the Hyper gloss black sleeve.

Default termination is with the Atlas Tin Cobalt finished metal Z plug. This Aluminum alloy Z plug body has the same non-magnetic qualities of its very popular black ABS brother as well as it’s insulating qualities (plug body to plug body). Also available terminated with our cold-weld high quality OFC spades or our Transpose Modular Termination System. Transpose options include Z-plugs or OFC spades in gold or silver.

Achromatic Z Plug

Our proprietary Beryllium Achromatic Z Plug is a low-mass, self-cleaning, solder-free construction speaker plug.
Precision-built.
Cold-weld terminated with Atlas Achromatic Z (4mm).
High precision calibrated pneumatic cold-weld crimp connection.

OFC

OFC (Oxygen Free Copper) was developed based on research that sound quality was related to the quality of copper and the processing used during cable manufacture.

Microporous PTFE

Microporous PTFE (Teflon™) is a unique, low density dielectric material, phase stable at room temperature, which offers significant performance improvements over solid PTFE (Teflon™) dielectric designs.

Twin-core round

A pair of identically matched conductors (one for signal path, the other acts as the return conductor) enclosed within a protective round PVC sheath.

THE ATLAS DIFFERENCE:

1. Conductor Purity

Atlas uses the highest-quality conductive materials to minimize the impurities that impede the signal’s path. Their top-of-the-range products use incredibly pure OCC copper and solid OCC silver conductors.

2. Manufacturing Consistency

Atlas avoids soldering and the variability it introduces. All Atlas products are manufactured using a proprietary cold-welding process to fuse the connector to the cable, creating an airtight metal-on-metal contact that is identical every time.

3. Signal Screening

Atlas takes great pains to screen our cables from the effects of the noisy environs in which modern systems are embedded. They also offer unique solutions for draining interference and noise, both within and outside of the cable.

4. Harmony of Materials

Atlas focuses on establishing conductive constancy or equilibration between the main conductor, the plug, and the insulating material. Audio signals are delicate — so wherever possible, they avoid combining disparate materials of differing resistances, and choose materials that will have the least possible effect on the audio signal.

5. Acclaimed in 30+ Countries

The Atlas “state of the art” products, such as the award-winning Mavros and Asimi ranges, are regarded as being among the finest available anywhere at any price, receiving accolades in Europe, the US, Canada, Japan, and the Far East.

Atlas products are researched, designed, and produced in Kilmarnock, in the west of Scotland. Everyone on the Atlas team has spent their lives in the hi-fi and audio-visual industry.
